Cambodia

1 more week, 5 more pounds

YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! WASSUPPP HOMIES!?!?!?!!!
I miss you all so much!!! Thx for all the dope emails. I got the most out of my 2 companions so i win. thx guys. lol
So, im at the mtc! its pretty dope. got here on tuesday which is a day early so i got to hang out with all the international kids. i had 5 roommates that didn't speak english for the first night and it was so dope!!! reminded me so much of china! i love communicating with people who have no idea what im saying.
the mtc is super cool! the last 5 days have been wayyyyy super long but totally worth it!

5 sisters and 9 elders in our district btw. yeah, i think this is the most stressed i've been all week trying to write this with only an hour of time. im getting used to the schedule and everything, 630-1030 going hard all day everyday. there's not a minute wasted, unless you count having a cup-mini-basketball-bowling tournament in the hallway with our whole zone a waste of time, which i  personally don't. our zone is really awesome too. we have kids learning thai and hmong and cantoneese and vietnamese. were all super good friends and our zone leaders like to party hard.

they're all super fun. there's a sweedish kid who's super swaggy named O(with the little dots on top)QUIST. so cool. i wish i had his last name. is it possible to change your last name while on a mission? somebody look that up for me. also, no joke, somebody look up the history of shaking hands and Dear Elder it to me. I really want to know. for real.

we went to the temple today and it was super crazy. there's 6 session rooms in there and they were all going up on a monday!!!!. i love it. there's a bunch of people i know from school here too. like a lot. and we always high 5 each other in the hallways. its so fun. i got to hear a devotional from M Russel Ballard on tuseday. super cool to hear from a general authority just hours after i get off the plane. OH YEAH! i sat next to a lady on the shuttle from the airport to the MTC who works at the byu art museum. she talked to me the whole way there and was super nice and had 3 kids go on missions. super awesome answer to my prayers. she made me feel good and confident about everything and so i killed it. the food is alright, i've gained at least 5 pounds, hence the clearly hilarious and witty title( im losing all my sense of humor - noooooooo!!!). there are 5 elders in my room but there are six beds. the weather is super nice. it kinda kills me to look outside towards campus tho. all my homies are like 2 minutes away. ATTN ANYBODY WHO WORKS AT THE MTC (alex, caitlyn, etc) if you see me you better yell at me. i've been looking for you guys everywhere!!!

everyone here is really awesome and its all super spiritual. i think im finally learning a buttload of crap about the gospel. mostly in cambodian tho!! the first day i went to class our teachers just only spoke in cambodian to us and so none of us knew what they were saying. it was so crazy! so fun tho to play charades for like 16 hours and still get nothing. i think the language is finally coming along tho! were all getting pretty good. some kids in my district are having a harder time than others but were all friends and working together. im killin it in khmer tho. a sister was talking to another sister and she was like "HOLY CRAP YOU ARE SO GOOD YOU SOUND LIKE ELDER OSBORNE!!!!!!!" i loved that. best compliment ever. anyway, my district has 14 kids (read elders and sisters, im not supposed to say kids) in it. i think we're the biggest district in the whole mtc right now, which is cool. im in a trio companionship with my homies elder maurer and elder lambert.

they're both from utah and they're both super swaggy and they're both like 20 or something. we take some good selfies together. no but they're actually awesome. they'll help me get through the 9 weeks. WE HAVE A BLACK KID IN OUR DISTRICT! yeah, you heard me. one of the 2 black guys in all of utah is in my district. he's from VA and he's dope. he dropped a sick  freestyle last night and we all died just like in the rap battle youtube video. you should link that video to everyone mom. its an essential. elder slavens is still the weirdest kid i've ever known and he's living up to that title. he brought his red onesie and his shoe socks.

he knows how to work it. oh yeah, we have 5 sisters and 9 elders in our district btw. yeah, i think this is the most stressed i've been all week trying to write this with only an hour of time. i'm getting used to the schedule and everything, 630-1030 going hard all day everyday. there's not a minute wasted, unless you count having a cup-mini-basketball-bowling tournament in the hallway with our whole zone a waste of time, which i  personally don't. our zone is really awesome too. we have kids learning thai and hmong and cantoneese and vietnamese. were all super good friends and our zone leaders like to party hard. they're all super fun. there's a sweedish kid who's super swaggy named O(with the little dots on top)QUIST. so cool. i wish i had his last name. is it possible to change your last name while on a mission? somebody look that up for me. also, no joke, somebody look up the history of shaking hands and Dear Elder it to me. spiritual shpeeeel: i know that heavenly father answers prayers. i've been praying for the gist of tongues and the gift of charity and i've seen both happen so fast and so clearly when i asked for them and really tried to be better. also if you are disobedient you will be tired. we stayed up talking about girls saturday night and we were all dying tired the next day. go to bed kids.

I LOVE YOU ALL AND I THINK ABOUT YOU ALL EVERY SECOND!!!!

PEACE
ELDER OSBORNE.

#prayforthisblog

Hello to everyone who cares enough about me to check out this blog. Everyone else is dead to me.

This is the blog that my loving Mother (bless her heart) will attempt to keep updated with my mission letters.

Because she is reaching a ripe old age and is quite technologically illiterate these pages might not be very organized and might not get promptly updated.

She will try her best though and with the help of my younger brother Joe I have faith that it will be at least readable.

Thank you for your support and prayers while I embark on this wonderful journey.

With the sincerest love,
Sam
